Podiums series, made in Roman Cocciopesto

Series of pedestals made with the ancient Roman Tadelakt cocciopesto technique.

The Pedestals are builded and made with  naturals materials, using  sand, lime, stone.

The cocciopesto dust it is giving  the warm pink colour, which is  combine very well and in harmony with the sculptures and the gallery unique environment.

The Podium are made and delivered  for the artist  & sculptress Kirsten Lillelund.

they are placed in her personal Gallery .

Cocciopesto the ancient roman plastering.

Opus signinum (‘cocciopesto’ in modern Italian) is a building material used in ancient Rome It is a form of Roman concrete, the main difference being the addition of small pieces of broken pot, including amphore tiles or brick, instead of other aggregates.

Cocciopesto is a waterproof building material used as a wall-covering and a floor-covering in water tanks and aqueducts.
